Thank you so much to Ann Bates and Glenn Tector who swam from Asia to Europe in the ‘Bosphorus Cross Continental Swim’ in Istanbul Turkey for National Breast Cancer Research Institute and raised €3,000. Swimmers are given 2 hours to do the 6.5km swim. The Bosphorus is one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world and is closed for the duration of the race. Ann and Glenn were delighted to complete the race in 1.16 and 1.24 respectively. In 2014 Ann was diagnosed with breast cancer and through the incredible treatment of Professor Michael Kerin and his team she made a full recovery and was delighted to have made it to the 5 year cancer free mark. As a way of giving back Ann and Glenn completed the ‘Bosphorus Cross Continental Swim’ in aid of the charity. Thank you both so much you are an inspiration to us all.
