The annual Lunch at the Shelbourne, supporting Breast Cancer Research took place on Friday, 16 October and was a huge success. 250 people attended the event in the beautiful surroundings of the Shelbourne Hotel to support vital research into breast cancer.
The Dublin Committee, chaired by Jean Ann Taylor welcomed guests such as Fionnuala Kenny, Mary Hannifin, Cathy O’Connor, Triona McCarthy, Valerie Hassett (President of the Irish Ladies Golf Union), Alison Browne (President of the Retail Jewellers of Ireland), Jane Baker and Maria and Marty Whelan. Marty as usual was the fantastic MC for the event.
The Retail Jewellers of Ireland generously sponsored the dial a diamond competition and lucky attendee, Mary Kershaw went home with a beautiful diamond ring.
The event’s silent auction was very successful, the auction included wonderful pieces of work by Una Burke, Laura Jayne Halton and Joanna Hynes. Other auction items included hotel breaks from the Merrion Hotel, Dublin and The Connacht Hotel and The Ardilaun Hotel in Galway and also various other auction items were included.
This was the 10th year of the event which is organised by the Dublin Committee.
