Preparations are well underway for the second ‘Roundstone for Fun’ fundraising event which takes place in the Community Centre, Roundstone on Saturday 11th August. Set-up by husband and wife Greig and Anna Swneey with the purpose of raising money for Breast Cancer Research a national charity, that funds a comprehensive research programme at the Lambe Institute for Translational Research, NUI Galway while helping to fund the development of the Roundstone Community Centre while helping to attract business to the area.
Last year the event was a huge success and great fun, raising €10,600.00 of which €5,300 went to Breast Cancer Research and €5,300 going to Roundstone Town Council. This year the couple have given themselves the target of €15,000
The event kicks–off at 8pm with the ever popular Bently Boys getting the fun started. Anna and Greig are delight to have the ongoing support of the award winning Camile Thai Restaurant who provide all the food for the event. The hall will be decorated by Caroline and Alan Hughes of Festive Decorations and will no doubt look even more incredible than last year. Sweeney’s Garage and their suppliers have generously stepped in to cover the cost of the event so all monies raised from ticket sales will go directly to the two causes.
The tickets are €50 each and can be purchased on www.roundstoneforfun.ie. If you cannot attend you can still support the event by making an donation on the Website.
