The NBCRI Research Team attended the Active Retirement Trade & Tourism Show on Tuesday, April 8th in The Radisson Blu, Galway.
The research team were collecting Saliva Samples to help with a current project investigating DNA mutations in breast cancer cells.
The cells will be used for comparison purposes, anonymised, and stored in the Cancer Biobank for further research.
Samples were taken from women:
- Over the age of 60
- With no personal cancer history
- With no first degree breast cancer or ovarian cancer history (Mother/Sister/Daughter)
Over 200 samples were collected on the day, but our team are looking for a larger number of samples to complete their research.
If you would like to make a DNA donation please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your postal address and we will send you a kit.
